HJC SIGNS BRITISH MOTO2 RIDER SAM LOWES
Following the retirement of MotoGP great Cal Crutchlow, HJC’s tradition of excellent British riders continues with the signing of the UK’s Sam Lowes.
A decorated veteran in the intermediate class with 9 wins, 23 podiums, and 17 pole positions to his name, Lowes will fight for the 2022 Moto2 World Championship title wearing HJC’s premium FIM homologated race helmet, the all-new RPHA 1.
Lowes is considered a serious title threat in 2022 as he returns with the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team, a top-ranked team in Grand Prix competition that helped the British racer capture 6 total pole positions last year over the span of 18 races, proving he was often the man to beat on race day. His 3 wins and 5 podiums on the season earned him 4th place in the final points tally, and he will be the only man in the top 4 returning for this year’s Moto2 championship hunt.
Lowes said “I am very pleased to join HJC Helmets for the 2022 racing season,” says Lowes. “HJC has a great tradition of racing with multiple top riders in the World Championship representing the brand at the highest level. I’m looking forward to working closely with HJC to start using their products very soon, and I can’t wait to race with their new race helmet, the RPHA 1! I’m excited and confident for this season and look to improve on the last two seasons while doing my best in every race with a goal to fight for the Championship together!”
Lowes’ 2022 RPHA 1 winter test and race helmets will feature newly designed graphics including different color schemes as well as the British flag to represent the riders’ home country of England. You can also expect to see the number 22 in some of HJC’s special licensed graphics, each of which will likely be debuted for the very first time out on the MotoGP starting grid.
Welcome to the HJC Family, Sam Lowes!
